Dear Western Kings Board of Trade Members:

As many of you are aware, the Western Kings Board of Trade voted in November to cease to exist. This happened as the result of many things. A decision was also made to join with the Eastern Kings Chamber of Commerce. The Eastern Kings Chamber has been more than receptive to work with us in the Western part of the county. The Central Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce (Eastern part of Annapolis County) has also decided to merge with EKCC. It is estimated that there are 1,500 possible members within the new catchment area. Imagine the size of that voice on advocacy issues! EKCC is moving forward. They have already proposed a name change which would see the birth of the Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce, which will be ratified at their February Annual General Meeting. AVCC has huge potential. They currently have five active committees: Professional Development & Events, Tourism, Advocacy, Agriculture, and Membership. Take a minute and visit their web site at www.ekcc.ca. Become a member, join a committee and attend the events. It is not their Chamber…it is ours as part of the business community.
